How this index is made
Church Software Index writes down what vendors publish, dates the note, and links the page the figure came from. It does not rank products or fill in a price a vendor has not printed.

What gets recorded
Names, modules, giving fees, and prices are copied from vendor pages into one dataset. A line appears on the site only when that dataset stores both a source link and a checked date. The checked date on these pages is Oct 15, 2026.
Church size buckets
Price comparisons use three congregation sizes: 50, 200, and 1,000. Where a vendor publishes a people, name, member, or active-adult cap, the tightest cap that covers that size is the one shown. A flat or modular price is shown as published. It is not assigned to a headcount the vendor did not use. No tier is extended past its printed cap.
Quote only stays quote only
If a vendor does not publish a dollar amount, the listing says quote only. Mixed listings say which part is published and which part is quote only. This index does not estimate either one. Secondhand prices are labeled reported.
Unknown means not published
Varies means the dataset has no single monthly total for that church size. Quote only means the price is available from the vendor, not from a public page we could cite. Discontinued means no current price is listed. Those words are the record. They are not a guess with the number left off.
How the homepage counts are made
Vendors indexed is every record in the dataset (23). Publish a price is the active listings whose pricing visibility is published (13). Quote only, in part or whole, is the active listings marked contact sales or mixed (9). Discontinued listings (1) stay in the index and are left out of those two counts. Verified as of Oct 15, 2026.
Paid placements
A sponsor slot, when one is filled, says sponsored. It does not move a vendor up the list or change a fact. No vendor pays to be included in the directory.
